"Therefore let your light so shine before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven"

Quiet Acts of Service
Why is service a fundamental principle of the gospel? Others often give service you may not notice, such as preparing meals, reading or listening to younger children, repairing clothing, or helping a brother or sister.
3 Nephi 13:1-4 says, "Verily, verily, I say that I would that ye should do alms unto the poor; but take heed that ye do not your alms before men to seen of them; otherwise ye have no record of your Father who is in heaven. Therefore, when ye shall do your alms do not sound a trumpet before you, as will hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Veril I say unto you, they have their reward. But when thou doest alms let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth; That thine alms may be in secret; and thy Father who seeth in secret, himself shall reward thee openly.
Mosiah 2:17 says, "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
Mosiah 4:26 says, "And now, for the sake of these things which I have spoken unto you--that is, for the sake of retaining a remission of your sins from day to day, that ye may walk guiltless before God--I would that ye should impart of your substance to the poor, every man according to that which he hath, such a feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and administering to their relief, both spiritually and temporally, according to their wants."
People do service all around us and we may not notice. We should try to notice what everyone does for us. We need to do random acts of kindness. We do this for no reason and we want no return.

Family Dinners
Service is an essential principle of family living. Help plan your family’s menus, obtain the food, and prepare part of the meals for two weeks. During that time help your family gather to share mealtimes.
Families do a lot for us and we should help them out too. Helping your family is necessary for life and kind to do. Food is one way to help your family. Just help them out for a couple of weeks and you will realise the good you can do for your families.
